Longest run yet.

Sometimes I like to push the limits.

I did that today.

15 miles this morning, longest run to date; by both time and distance.

I think I am starting to get the pre-race nerves. Not sure what kind of progress I’ve been making with my training, hoping to perform well at the 15k to make sure my next 1/2 is better than my first. So naturally I decided to pick things up a notch today and see how my body would respond to 15 miles and close to 2 hours of running.

A few highlights.

  • 13.1 miles in 1:41:55 – only 43 seconds slower than AZ and this was definitely not a max effort run, mind you.
  • 15 miles on the dot in 1:57:38. Not too shabby.
  • Finished feeling like I worked hard but definitely wasn’t done.

36 miles for the week.

Onto the next.
